In Rome’s prestigious Pinciano district, Studio FAD oversaw the renovation and interior design of a 240-square-meter office, renovating a space with significant historical value and giving it a new identity, combining memory and modernity.
The project stands out for its careful and measured approach, in which functional redevelopment is constantly in dialogue with respect for the original structure and its material and decorative elements.
The project focuses on the historic floors: the Italian-style parquet, nailed onto laths, and the Venetian flooring with cornices and floral designs. The parquet was completely dismantled, catalogued piece by piece, and then reassembled on a new structure. It was then sanded and waxed, restoring its natural elegance. Similarly, the Venetian flooring was meticulously restored, bringing back the luminosity and richness of its terrazzo tiles.
In parallel with the restoration, the project introduced a significant upgrade in systems and energy efficiency: new high-performance windows, a ducted air conditioning system, and a smart electrical and lighting system, designed to ensure comfort, efficiency, and consumption control over time.
The new internal layout organizes the spaces functionally and elegantly, featuring operational offices, a break area, restrooms, a management office, and a prestigious meeting room. Featuring a curved wall and three large French windows, the latter stands out for its spatial quality and the natural light that floods it.
The entrance was conceived as a defining element of the project: a custom-made desk, designed by Studio FAD, welcomes visitors with a material language consistent with the interiors. The grooves on the front panel interact with the wood paneling, creating an elegant and recognizable visual continuity.
The furnishings contribute to the contemporary character of the spaces: the essential and refined metal kitchen by Fantin and the LAS Mobili workstations, selected for functionality, ergonomics, and aesthetic quality.
The result is a workspace where tradition and innovation are harmoniously integrated, creating a representative, efficient professional environment deeply rooted in the history of the location.
