When space is limited in a store, the design must convey the right atmosphere. With small but well-balanced touches, we must be able to give the right value to both the commercial and aesthetic aspects. Therefore, a curved wall with niches enhances the value of the items for sale, glass tables create a lighter atmosphere, and lighting lends character to a small clothing store.
The renovation project for a small clothing boutique near Rome began with the need to reorganize the spaces according to a more functional logic for the existing business. In the entrance area, the perimeter walls were enhanced with curved plasterboard linings to accommodate niches for displaying products.

The same curved lines continue on the floor, creating a raised platform, creating a large space adjacent to the glass entrance where the shop window can be dramatically displayed, thus increasing its visibility from the street.

Existing tubular elements in brushed steel flow along the walls of the store’s three display areas, creating orthogonal geometries that enliven the perimeter surfaces while also supporting the garments hung there. Steel, along with glass, also aesthetically defines the central display tables and the checkout counter. A flexible and functional accent lighting system consisting of spotlights installed on ceiling tracks was designed to create a welcoming and functional atmosphere. In addition to the lighting, a dove-grey resin floor extends across the entire store area up to the veranda. The veranda, furnished with sofas for waiting guests, also offers a view of the adjacent internal courtyard.
