The essence of this design emerges from the audacious choice to fully embrace the architectural ethos of open space: uniting living areas through the bold removal of doors and partition walls.
While integrating kitchens into living spaces has become a common trend, few have dared to extend this fluidity into the sleeping quarters, as exemplified in the apartment we designed and are excited to unveil.
A small apartment with meticulous attention to detail. Upon entering, the apartment unfolds in its entirety: a stylish dining/kitchen area, an inviting living room, and a serene bedroom tucked away at the back. This internal space seamlessly transitions onto a long balcony, accessible through two generous French doors, strategically positioned in both the living room and the bedroom. Natural light pours into the apartment, casting a warm glow on the parquet flooring and accentuating the striking contrast between the wood and the crisp white walls and ceilings. Within this vibrant colour dialogue, an exposed concrete pillar and matte black cabinetry add a sophisticated touch.
The pillar elegantly delineates a virtual boundary between the dining/kitchen area and the living room, while a delicate, white-painted brick wall hangs lightly between the living room and the bedroom, facilitating an open connection without the need for doors. A geometric wallpaper in rich blue tones creates a stunning backdrop for the double bed.
Nestled within a wall recess beside the entrance, the kitchen unfolds in a chic “L” shape, perfectly tailored to meet the needs of modern living. Dominating the dining space is a wooden table that echoes the flooring, seemingly floating in the room thanks to its transparent glass supports.
A sleek white sliding door discreetly marks the entry to the bathroom, finished in cement-effect porcelain tiles that impart a contemporary industrial flair. Completing the aesthetic are designer lighting fixtures, curated furnishings, and stylish collectibles.
This project celebrates the significance of inhabitable space, seamlessly merging functionality with the allure of elegant, straightforward solutions. The result is a dynamic environment characterized by shifting visual perspectives and a liberating sense of movement, infused with light and air.
